Good VPS, quick setup

I ordered an Iceland VPS. Setup was fast. Service is stable. Met my expectations for offshore hosting.

Solid hosting, minor hiccup

I bought a Netherlands VPS and overall it's been performing well. The speed is good, and I like the privacy focus. My only small issue was that customer support took a bit longer to respond to a ticket about a firewall setting than I expected, maybe around 4-5 hours. Nothing critical, but a faster response would have been perfect. Still, a good value for the price.

Easy to set up a new site

Needed a new spot for a project, so I grabbed some shared hosting here. It was pretty chill, the process was straightforward, and I got my site up without any drama. Feels good to have something secure without a lot of fuss.

Good deal on shared hosting

I was looking for something affordable and found a good price on their shared hosting when I paid for a year upfront. The anonymous registration was a big plus for me. It felt like I got a solid service without breaking the bank.

Consistently reliable hosting

This is my third time using Flokinet, previously for a Romania VPS and now for a Dedicated Server. Their service has been consistent every time. The dedicated server setup was just as smooth as the VPS. I appreciate that they always deliver on the anonymity and security they promise; it's why I keep coming back for my projects.

Thinking of getting a VPS from these guys, but how fast is the setup usually? Need it kinda quick.

A Anna Ito 1 month ago

Mine was up in like an hour or two. Pretty fast for a VPS.

S Sophie 1 month ago

I got my Iceland VPS going in under an hour last month. They say it's usually quick, and it was for me. Depends on the config maybe?

Do they actually ignore DMCA notices? That's a pretty big claim.

J Josh 1 month ago

From what I gather, their offshore locations (like Iceland) mean they don't have to comply with DMCA. That's a key part of their service.

6

E Elena Foster 1 month ago

That's one of their selling points for sure. Their FAQ mentions they ignore DMCA notices due to their jurisdiction, which is a big deal for some users. Do your own research for your specific needs, but that's what they advertise.

Any discount codes floating around for new customers? Or for paying yearly?

N Neil 2 months ago

Annual billing usually gets you a decent discount automatically, like 10-20% off. Don't think there's a specific 'first time' code.

5

D Derek C. 2 months ago

Nah, not really specific 'new customer' codes in my experience. But definitely look at paying yearly or even biennially. The discount for longer terms is usually applied automatically at checkout and it's a good chunk of change saved.

Which server location is best for overall privacy and not just speed? Iceland or Finland?

C Carly Marsh 2 months ago

Both are great for privacy. Iceland often gets highlighted for its strong data protection laws.

6

M Mia 2 months ago

For pure privacy, Iceland is often cited as one of the best due to their legal framework. Finland is also really good, but if you want the 'most' private, I'd lean towards Iceland. It's a key reason many people choose them.

Are they legit for privacy? Really need something where my stuff isn't gonna get looked at.

T Tom 2 months ago

Yeah, they're big on privacy, it's their whole thing. No logs, offshore locations, pretty solid.

A Andre Romero 2 months ago

I've been with them for a while specifically because of their privacy claims. Iceland and Finland data centers are known for good privacy laws. They say they ignore DMCA too, which is a big plus if you're worried about that sort of thing.

What's the deal with payment methods? Can I use crypto or something anonymous?

O Omar H. 2 months ago

They definitely take crypto, pretty sure that's one of their main payment options.

3

F Faith 2 months ago

Yep, crypto is a go. I pay with Monero usually, but they accept a bunch of others. Good for anonymity.

How long is their money-back guarantee period? Just in case it doesn't work out.

D Derek Reyes 2 months ago

I think it's like a week or two, not super long but enough to test things.

2

S Sophie Kaur 2 months ago

It's a 7-day money-back guarantee for most services, from what I remember reading. Gives you a little window to see if it's a good fit, but don't drag your feet if you need a refund.

Are there any specific deals for Black Friday or Cyber Monday? Planning to get a dedicated server then.

M Mark Vargas 1 month ago

Oh yeah, they definitely have Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales. Keep an eye out around November.

0

S Sam C. 1 month ago

They usually run pretty good sales during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It's one of their peak times for discounts. I'd definitely wait until then if you're not in a rush, you could save a good bit on a dedicated server.
